Meet the Owner

Kaitlyn Ormond

Hello, It is wonderful to virtually meet you! As you read above, my name is Kaitlyn Ormond. Born and raised in Eastern NC, I view myself as someone with many passions and inspirations, which makes it considerably more difficult to choose a single career path, surprisingly. Being born into a family whose mother consistently upheld the phrase, “do whatever makes you happy”, I tested its meaning to its full potential. In high school, I leapt from creative writing to medicine, even becoming certified as an EMT-B and, later, an EKG tech. In university, my major deviated from biochemistry, to public health, and back to chemistry (and almost math!) not to mention my minors and small certifications. At one point, I pondered dropping out to pursue project management and software development! Needless to say, my advisor has always been busy trying to connect my dots, and at the same time, so was I.

That brings me to (almost) present day—a semester long break from university and a decision that would change the trajectory of my future as I knew it. Let’s enroll in nail school! In the beginning, it felt like a natural continuation of my artistic spirit and interest in cosmetic science, but now, it appears as an opportunity to turn my whimsical, passionate character into something larger than just ‘being me’. Building this business has been a fantastic learning opportunity and incredibly mentally stimulating. Not only do I get to bring art and beauty into a world that often feels too heavy and increasingly chaotic, but I can instill my clients with the peace and energy to continue doing what makes them happy while educating on the health and science behind it all!

P.S. I am still following through with my education as an undergraduate student, majoring in public health and chemistry (with a concentration in biochemistry). Never give up! You never know where the wind, fueled by your efforts, will take you.
